Get Involved

There are many different ways that you can get involved with Biodiversity, and with the South Lanarkshire LBAP. From something as simple as planting some native seeds in your garden or reporting a sighting of an invasive species through to volunteering with a conservation organisation, there’s something for everyone. You don’t need specialist skills, knowledge or tools, and here’s a bit of advice on getting involved in South Lanarkshire:

  • The SLBP are collating a database of invasive non-native species (INNS) in the whole of the Clyde catchment with partners and volunteers. If you see an invasive species, or think you see one, please send in the record using the recording form here. If you are unsure if what you've seen is an INNS, then send in a photo with your form and we can check it for you.
  • The SLBP run events throughout the year, keep an eye on the events pages here, or the SL ranger service pages, and come along.

Try using our Habitat Assessment Cards (here) to survey your site or loacl park to see how good it is for biodiversity and what could be done to improve it.
